Anais, the first Armenian ice wine, is considered to be the crown jewel of the noble sweet wines produced by Gevorkian Winery. This wine is named after the ancient Armenian goddess of love and fertility since only genuine passion and life-giving mastery of the Armenian winemakers and grape growers can turn glaciated grapes into an exquisite wine gleaming noble gold. Anais Ice Wine is produced from the indigenous frozen Voskehat variety, harvested at -11°C in the high mountainous terroirs of Vayots Dzor. The precious wine must is squeezed out of frozen grape marbles and after a laborious process, it is aged for 12 months in barrels made of century-old Armenian oak trees. This ice wine is distinguishable with its exotic fruit tones, a remarkable bouquet, and a long-lasting aftertaste typical of Armenian apricot.
